ANNA TANCZAK
Anna is 16 years old. She started singing at the age of 5. She is enrolled in the Regional Arts Vocal Program at Father John Redmond and takes lessons in Larysa Stilmachenko’s vocal school. Anna sings at many different events and festivals. Every time she has participated in Ukrainian music festivals she placed as a finalist, such as in the "Ukrainian Star” vocal competitions sponsored by Buduchnist. She has performed in many concerts such as Taras Shevchenko, Fundraising Marathon for Ukrainian Foster kids etc. She likes to sing traditional Ukrainian and classical songs, and plays piano and the bandura.

BARVINOK - HAMILTON
The Barvinok Ukrainian Dance Ensemble of Hamilton has been in existence for over 60 years. It is comprised of 35 students between the ages of 3 to 16 years. Located inside Holy Spirit Church Hall, all classes have the opportunity to promote our Ukrainian culture throughout the year at various church celebrations, fairs, concerts and anniversary events held within the GTA and the Hamilton, Wentworth & Niagara regions. They have also appeared on television, performing on the revival of the “Tiny Talent Time” show. Under the direction and choreography of Michael Stechey and Nadine Usyk, the group has flourished with an expanding repertoire of dances, performances and student enrollment. The purpose of Barvinok Hamilton is to provide its dancers with an exciting educational experience while encouraging a greater interest in Ukrainian dance and culture. This year, they have 3 different age groups each enthusiastic to perform.

CHABAN i VOVK
Chaika - Hamilton
Chaika has thrilled audience’s worldwide and won recognition and praise with their memorable performances throughout Canada, the United States and Europe. Created in 1957 and celebrating our 60 year Anniversary; under the auspices of the Hamilton Branch of the Ukrainian National Federation, the Chaika Performing Ensemble has been dedicated to the development of Ukrainian folk song and dance. The school comprised of 70 performers, ranging in age from 4 to 50, continues to help preserve Canada’s multicultural mosaic. The energy and spirit of Chaika is reflected in its choreography - integrating ballet with Ukrainian folk stage theatre. The school is committed to teaching Ukrainian traditional dances. Chaika is very fortunate to perform to live music which provides the dancers and the audiences an exhilarating experience. Chaika’s Chairman is Ivan Dykyj and the Artistic Director is John Hucal. DESNA SCHOOL
DESNA School is a Toronto-based Ukrainian dance school under the artistic direction of Virksy trained Luba & Yuri Grekov. This is a place where children not only experience Ukrainian culture and tradition, but also create lasting friendships and attain unforgettable memories. DESNA School consists of children aged 2 to 14, who practice once a week at the Plast Huculak Centre. Our dancers have performed on many stages including Nathan Phillips Square and The Living Arts Centre. This summer they traveled to Dauphin, MB to compete at the Canadian National Ukrainian Festival & to Chicago to perform at Chicago Ukrainian Days. Summer 2018 they will be travelling to Ukraine - to learn more about their heritage and where it all began.

ECHO
Music studio ECHO began a few years ago at St. Mary Ukrainian Church in Mississauga. Through learning the art of singing, enhanced by music theory, children discover the world of music and Ukrainian culture. Nadiya Korol, musical director of studio ECHO, believes that music education helps young children gain confidence, express themselves, and perceive the surrounding beauty. To develop all of these qualities in the early age, the studio runs an educational program called Veseli Notky. The performing ensemble consist of children ranging from 6 to 10 years old. Every year, they master a program filled with a variety of Ukrainian modern and folk songs. The group performs at various events throughout the year. ECHO has had appeared at many community and parish events: among them - Ukrainian festivals including Zolotyj Klen, the Toronto Ukrainian Festival, and the Ukrainian Musical Festival

HALYCHANY
Halychany are a dance ensemble from the Barvinok Dance School based in Mississauga. These dancers are young children ranging in ages from 12-13. They have performed at various festivals in Mississauga and at Centennial Park for Independence Day. They also traveled to Ottawa last summer as well as to Vaughan for a multicultural music festival. They will be travelling to Orlando, Florida this upcoming October to represent the Barvinok Dance School at Disney World. Halychany dancers are wonderful to watch and we know you will enjoy seeing them dance at the Toronto Ukrainian Festival

MELODIA
Melodia is a Ukrainian vocal youth group made up of young singers who are dedicated to the performing modern Ukrainian popular songs written and composed by contemporary artists of present Ukraine. In existence since the fall of 2005, currently the group consists of 6 members, ages 8-16, from Mississauga and surrounding communities: Daria Sulipka, Alisa Osavelyuk, Natalia Terek, Aleksa Gobosz, Sophia Halushchak, and Andrijko Semchyshyn. The group is under the auspices of St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church in Mississauga. Melodia participates at all religious church events throughout the year including Yarmarok Christmas Bazar, Christmas and Easter celebrations, Toronto and Mississauga Ukrainian Festivals as well as Carassauga Festival of Cultures. These talented young singers independently perform at various events within the community. Members of the group take part at the annual Ukrainian Music Festival winning top vocal awards and scholarships. The artistic director of the group "Melodia" - Oksana Zelinska-Shevchuk.

REZONANS
Ukrainian Children's Performing Studio Rezonans was established by Voldoymyr and Iryna Kokhanovski in 2012 and is under the auspices of St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church. These talented young singers of the Studio, take an active role in music and artistic events in the Ukrainian-Canadian Community such as annual Bloor West Village Toronto Ukrainian Festival, Flavours of Ukraine Festival, Zolotyj Klen, Ivana Kupala, Carassauga, Yarmarok, and many others. Also, “Rezonans” present three annual festivals: “St Nicholas’ little Angels adventure”, Christmas Festival “Oj, koliadko – koliadochko” and Easter “Hei, letyt Haivka”.

UKRAINIAN ACADEMY OF DANCE
The Ukrainian Academy of Dance was founded in 1987 in Toronto, Canada, as a Ukrainian folk-dance school for ages 3 to adult. They are celebrating their 30th anniversary year. Dancers in the Jr. Ensemble group have been chosen from The Ukrainian Academy of Dance and range in age from 7 - 12. The group has performed at the Toronto Christmas Market, Dance Ontario’s annual Dance Weekend, The Toronto, Mississauga and Oakville Ukrainian Festivals and most recently, they traveled to Florida where they performed in Disney World as well as in St. Petersburg.

VOLOSHKY
Voloshky are a dance ensemble from the Barvinok Dance School based in Mississauga. These children, ranging in ages from 15-16, can dance like no other! They have performed for young and old at various festivals in Mississauga and Toronto and they traveled to Montreal, Disney World, and Ottawa. This past summer they represented Barvinok Dance School at the Ukrainian festival in Rochester,USA. Voloshky ensemble are a joy to watch and we know you will be delighted seeing them dance their hearts out at the Toronto Ukrainian Festival.
