Butterfly in Blue: Toronto Pulmonary Hypertension Fashion Show
This year's FASHION SHOW will be showcased numerous times during three festival days and is aimed to spread awareness about a rare and life-long disease called pulmonary hypertension. The Butterfly in Blue Fashion Show showcases designers from Ukraine using women with pulmonary hypertension as models wearing blue outfits and butterfly accessories. Pulmonary hypertension is a rapidly progressing disease of the heart and lungs affecting mostly young women. Treatment is costly, specific and life-long. Often patients have blue lips and fingers and they experience weakness, dizziness and shortness of breath. The fashion show is organized by the "Association of Rare Diseases of Ukraine - Pulmonary Hypertension" (PHURDA) and LMBF "Sisters of Dalila”, with the cooperation of "Pulmonary Hypertension Association of Canada".
