2024 solidarity march
We are pleased to invite you to participate in the Bloor West Village Toronto Ukrainian Festival’s annual parade. Thousands of people come to view the parade every year. By participating, you not only showcase your organization/business to the Ukrainian community, but also show the larger Canadian community the diversity and beauty of our Ukrainian heritage. Every group, organization, committee or business that wishes to participate in the parade is welcome to do so.
When: Saturday, September 14, 2024. Assembly begins at 10 a.m. The parade begins at 11 a.m. sharp.
Where: Parade entrants will assemble in High Park, inside the north entrance of the park at Bloor St.
and High Park Ave. The parade will move west along Bloor St. W. to Jane St. and then proceed north
along Jane, ending in the parking lot of St. Pius X School. The duration of the parade is one hour.
Cost: There is no entry fee!
Parade Prizes for the Following Categories: Best Costumes; Best Float; Best Overall Non-Commercial Entry; Best Crowd Engagement; and Most Likes on Facebook!
It is important that your parade entry be festive, colourful and interesting to viewers.
How to make your parade entry stand out in the crowd:
• Flags or banners identifying, advertising and promoting your group/organization/business;
• Ukrainian costumes, uniforms or festive dress;
• Ukrainian music, either amplified tape recorders or live bands;
• Handouts: coupons, pamphlets, balloons, buttons, fans, hats- anything that people can keep as a festival
memento with your advertisement;
• THE BEST WAY: Create a float (no wider than 18 feet) and include costumes, flags, the tryzub and any other
symbols of Ukraine, its culture or its regions.

Please submit your parade registration form by Sat, August 31st, 2024 to guarantee a space for your organization in this year's parade.

Awards: Two trophies will be awarded, one for the Best Overall Non-Commercial Entry and one for the Best Overall Commercial Entry.
